4-H DOG CLUB PROJECT REQUIREMENTS (as of February 13th, 2017)
Completing with a dog: - complete 3 activities in the project book
- complete expense sheet in the back of project book
- exhibit dog in the obedience and showmanship at the fair
Completing without a dog: - complete 7 activities in the project book
- exhibit a poster at the fair (must be turned in at general project check-in)
OR - complete 3 activities in the project book
- complete one of the projects listed below
- exhibit a poster at the fair (must be turned in at general project check-in)
- Have a donation drive for the Elkhart County Humane Society. Collect items during training nights; make posters to put in the dog building. Take collections to the Humane Society on a regular basis and bring receipts to a leader.
- Attend 4 training nights. Observe the training group(s), interview trainer(s) & members.
* Keep a journal and turn in by June 27th, 2017. - Do a research paper. Interview a veterinarian, a professional trainer, a groomer, a K9 officer, ect. (must be approved by a leader). Write a 3 page paper paper due by June 27th, 2017.
* (Oral presentation may be given to a designated leader but is subject to approval in advance).
*Note: Two members may not train and show the same dog. Each member must train and show their own dog or choose to complete the project doing paperwork and a poster. |
